Canton, Mass. – Canton Co-operative Bank President & CEO Nick Maffeo has reported that Assistant Vice President/Director of Residential Lending Anabela (Bela) Vasconcelos has received her “5 Years of Service” Award at the local independent community bank.
“It is impossible to believe that it has only been 5 years since Bela joined our staff,” Nick Maffeo said. “Borrowers really love Bela because they can tell she is genuinely devoted to working with them to buy a home or to refinance or tap their equity. She’s a great lender, a true community banker, a true family person and we are totally delighted that Bela Vasconcelos is here at Canton Co-operative Bank.”
“Answering borrowers’ questions and helping them navigate the mortgage process – that’s my favorite part of my job,” Bela Vasconcelos said. One borrower sent me a card thanking me. ‘We felt like you actually cared about us,’ he said. At Canton Co-operative Bank, we do care. It’s our history. It’s how this Bank is. That’s why I’m glad to be here.”
A graduate of Bridgewater State University and the New England School for Financial Studies, Bela Vasconcelos is on the Board of the Canton Area Help Line and she is Co-Treasurer of the Salvation Army’s Canton Unit. A Stoughton native, she lives with her family in Raynham, Mass.
Canton Co-operative Bank has been Canton’s neighborhood bank since 1891 and is rated “5-Star for Strength & Stability” as “one of the strongest banks in the country,” according to bank-rating service BauerFinancial of Coral Gables, Florida.
