Barbara Fotheringham receives 10-Year Service Award at Canton Co-operative Bank

Canton, Mass. – Barbara Fotheringham has received her “10 Years of Service” Award from Canton Co-operative Bank.

According to Canton Co-operative Bank President Nick Maffeo, “I think an email I recently received about Barbara really says it all. An elderly customer had called the Bank and said she could not get out of her apartment and needed to pay her rent. According to the e-mailer who wanted to commend Barbara, ‘Barbara Fotheringham went the extra mile to take care of this customer – going to the customer’s home, getting the signed rent check and even hand-delivering it to the rental office in the customer’s building.’ We are delighted to have Barbara Fotheringham on our staff. She is thoroughly-professional and truly kind.”

A resident of Canton and a native of Northwest Scotland, Barbara Fotheringham started at Canton Co-operative Bank as a part-time teller and she is currently a Customer Service Representative.

Celebrating its 125th Anniversary in 2016, Canton Co-operative Bank has been Canton’s neighborhood bank since 1891 and is rated “5-Star for Strength & Stability” as “one of the strongest banks in the country,” according to bank-rating service BauerFinancial of Coral Gables, Florida. All deposits are insured by the FDIC and the Share Insurance Fund (SIF). The phone number is 781-828-8811.
