Canton, Mass. – Based on the success of the first year, Canton Co-operative Bank is once again sponsoring the Money Experience personal finance program for juniors and seniors at Canton High School.

According to Canton Public Schools District Wellness Coordinator Ryan Gordy, “Canton Co-operative Bank and Vice-President/Senior Loan Officer Anabela Vargas are completely dedicated to helping young people learn to successfully manage their finances. Thanks to Bela’s efforts and thanks to the Bank, we will be able to continue to offer the Money Experience as part of our very popular ‘Life After Canton’ program at Canton High School.”

“The Money Experience lets Canton High students virtually experiment with the wide-ranging financial and lifestyle implications of decisions they make,” Gordy said. “The opportunity is incredibly valuable to them. They like being able to see how things pan out. Many have said it is very eye-opening.”

“Adults often say no one ever taught them about finances,” Anabela Vargas said. “At Canton Co-operative Bank, we are thrilled to be part of giving Canton High students the chance to learn hands-on how their financial decisions can affect their quality of life. ‘Life After Canton’ is a program that will absolutely pay dividends for a lifetime. Ryan Gordy is a fantastic resource for Canton High students. We’re 100% delighted to support him and the high school with access to the Money Experience Program.”

Canton Co-operative Bank has been Canton’s hometown bank since 1891 and is rated “5-Star for Strength & Stability” as “one of the strongest banks in the country,” according to bank-rating service BauerFinancial of Coral Gables, Florida. All deposits are insured by the FDIC and the Depositors Insurance Fund (DIF). The phone number is 781-828-8811.
