Home Depot Payment Data System Breach

On Monday, September 8th, The Home Depot confirmed that its payment data system had been breached potentially impacting customers that used cards at their U.S. and Canadian stores from April 2014 on. At this point, Canton Co-operative Bank is awaiting word from Visa Fraud Control & Investigations to find out if any of our customers’ debit card account numbers may have been compromised. If necessary, Canton Co-operative Bank will notify customers if their account has been impacted by this breach and if their debit card will need to be reissued or if any other action needs to take place with regards to their account.

As always, customers should closely monitor their account activity (online and by reviewing monthly statements) and report any unauthorized or suspicious activity immediately by calling us at 781-828-8811, option 5. Please remember with Visa’s Zero Liability policy, consumer liability in cases of card fraud for all Visa card transactions processed through the Visa network, including online purchases, is $0.
